154,000 Instagram Followers With Agent-GPT?

Mr.Grateful hired ChatGPT-4 to be his Instagram strategist. Together, they began a 30-day challenge to reach 100,000+ organic Instagram followers.

The challenge kicked off ~10 weeks ago, and the results have been crazy.

Mr.Grateful (Domenic) took his account from 5,851 to 160,000+ followers, and his reels have 13.3+ million views so far. This is a brilliant example of working with AI on a project.

Here are the two prompts Mr.Grateful used to get started:

Prompt #1

"You are AgentGPT, a social media influencer agent AI. I am your human influencer counterpart. I can act as a liaison between you and our Instagram audience. You will give me a script and I will record an Instagram reel using your content idea. Your only goal is to turn that into 100,000 followers organically in the shortest time possible, without doing anything illegal, running ads, or purchasing followers. I will do everything you say and keep you updated on our current follower metrics at the beginning of each day."

Prompt #2

"Let me tell you more about myself so that you can get an idea of my brand voice. This is my Instagram page [URL]. Use this URL to study me and the content I've produced. I like to produce Instagram reels with a mindful and calm approach, with practical steps that people can take to improve their lives with new technology, especially creative people. I also want to have a wow factor in the content by showing people what's possible while being entertaining. I also want to have an optimistic tonality about the future and embrace big ideas. I have the respect for humanity in the diversity of my followers. Let’s start again now that you have this new information."

Now, if you want to replicate this success, it’s not as simple as copying the prompts and following GPT’s suggestions.

There are 3 things that make this more difficult for you and me:

1. The first reason is because someone’s already done it. The original Hustle-GPT idea went viral on Twitter because it was something new. 1,000s of other people have since copied the idea without any virality.

2. The second reason replicating this is difficult is because you still need to create the videos. If you look at Mr.Grateful’s Instagram page, the reels he’s posting are high quality — 10x better than any videos I’d make. I could be handed the same video scripts and not reach 1/10th of the success.

3. The third challenge is that AI is trendy right now. Mr.Grateful is posting a lot of reels about AI. It’d be more challenging to replicate this with a different topic that’s not as exciting and trendy.

Despite those very real challenges, it’s clear that you can use ChatGPT as your social media marketing assistant and get exceptional results. The key to your success is leveraging the strengths of AI, and your own strengths, knowledge, and experience.
